The Players Academy offers a three-term program lasting one year. Each term is structured to assist students in building and refining their skills one step at a time.
Preperation & Rehearsal: Term One - The discovery process; acting and rehearsal techniques. Students in the first term develop acting techniques through a range of classes spanning scene study, voice, improvisation, clown, and movement for the stage. They learn how to apply these skills to a rehearsal process and how to fine tune their individual process as artists.
From Process to Product: Term Two - The journey to performance: fine tuning the acting process into performance techniques. The second term enhances a student’s experience by clarifying their communication skills, adapting their technical skills to each new work, and tailoring their process in the rehearsal context towards the goal of public performance.
The Show: Term Three - Ensemble rehearsal and performance of a contemporary play.
